Speaker: Ross Docherty, Commercial Director, Protech Heating Ltd
What would you like to say to your CFO?
Ross Docherty: I want to say a massive thank you to Alex Marshall for his remarkable support and wise counsel this past two years.
What big issues/ opportunities were you facing before we started working with you?
Ross Docherty: Before Alex entered the scene, our business historically had been largely successful, but we had little or no vision of what parts of the business were doing well, doing okay, doing indifferently or not doing well at all.
What have been the benefits to the business?
Ross Docherty: Thanks to Alex, we now have a handle on our businesses financial performance, as a whole and by division. He has supported not only the directors of the business and the finance team, but all the operational teams as well, with proactive support, meaningful reporting, which has been used to guide our decision making, in all aspects of the business.
What have the benefits been to you personally?
Ross Docherty: It’s difficult to quantify all the benefits that Alex has brought to me personally, never mind the wider business, but the work he’d done during the acquisition process when we decided to join Flogas Britain and the wider DCC group was quite simply outstanding. He really was my rock throughout the process and I’ll always be grateful for what you’ve done for me, my family, my colleagues. He was most definitely an essential ingredient in getting this remarkable deal over the line, not only to our satisfaction but to the satisfaction of all the stakeholders.
What is the number that really matters to you?
Ross Docherty: The number that really matters to me is Alex Marshall’s mobile number. This number I use when I need sound advice not only matters financial, business or personal, but commercial also. He’s a safe sounding board who has made my life immeasurably better and my business drive, and I can only thank him for that.
